Dollar Tree and Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze: A Match Made in Heaven

I did something today I've been wanting to do for a long time. I painted stuff. Old stuff, new stuff, Used stuff, and yes--blue stuff. It was a wedding of sorts. Joining two things that were meant to be together. It was a joyous occasion!

Here we are getting ready for the big moment!

And here we are just after the two became one.
(Okay, I'll, stop with the analogy)

These are the little birdies I got at Dollar Tree. That's the store where everything truly is only one dollar. I kind of liked them the way they were, but I couldn't resist trying out my oil rubbed bronze spray paint.

So I stuffed the little birds with newspaper. I couldn't get the glass votive holders out so I just wanted to cover them a little before painting.

Now the little birdie looks like it should be on a Dawn commercial where they are getting the oil- spill oil off the animals, but oh well. I like my oily birdies.

I just wanted to give you a little idea here. I needed some height for the centerpiece so I turned a bowl upside down and then placed another platter on top of that. I then placed the arrangement inside and it looked real purty!

Just showing this little thing that went from silver to--that's right--oil rubbed bronze. You may recognize the bouquet at the top from my Craft Weekend.

I had a can of some funky green spray paint that was perfect for Cutie's room so I sprayed a random basket that was not being used.

This was an old frame I got at a garage sale for a couple bucks. I sprayed the frame with regular paint and the glass with chalkboard paint. This will go in Cutie's room also.

Wooden frame sprayed with ORB by Krylon.

"Was green" vase sprayed with ORB by Krylon.

Here she is ladies and gentlemen! My new BFF.

This is probably my favorite. It was another garage sale find that had some geese, mauve hearts, and blue ribbons on it. "Classic 80's Canton," I call it. If you're from Texas that might mean something to you. Now it's Country Chic...or something. I am considering the addition of a small block of chalk board paint on the front and writing "fleurs" or something frenchy like that on it. What'd ya think?
